If you drive from Sarnico towards Tavernola, you will reach Predore. The commune has almost 2’000 inhabitants and is 190 m.a.s.l. The remains of an antique mansion proof that the area was already populated in the 3^rd century. The Welf family Foresti lived in Predore since the 11^th century.

At the shore on the premises of a villa you can find the “Halved Tower” built in the 13^th century, which is a part of the fortification of the former palace of the Foresti family. As the saying goes, two brothers left the tower this way, as one brother wanted it to be still standing there and the other brother wanted to tear it down. In reality one part of the tower was destructed by a landslide.

In the center of Predore, close to the town hall you can visit the beautiful church San Salvatore with its Madonna painting “San Felice da Cantalice” by Francesco Zucco Marone from 1600. Afterwards you might be tempted to have a drink in one of the bars situated directly on the shore of the lake Iseo, which offers a lovely unimpeded view on the lake.

Close to the Ristorante dell’Angelo in Via Locatelli you can find a very well-preserved roman thermae in the basement of an antique mansion („Terme Romane“). The mansion was built in the first century A.D. and the thermae probably around 210 A.D. by Marco Nonio Arrio Muciano, a roman consul. It was excavated in 2003 and it took nine years of preparation until this archeological treasure was ready to be shown to the public. As it is in an excellent condition it gives a very good impression about how wealthy romans lived those days. Predore offers a public beach as well as the Beach Hotel Eurovil close to the entrance of the village. It has a spacious outdoor pool, which is especially suitable for children. Small children are granted free entry, the attached restaurant offers delicious meals and at the bar you can enjoy a full-bodied wine from the Valcalepio or Franciacorta region.
